Meininger Publishing House

The publishing house was founded in 1903 by Daniel Meininger in Neustadt, Germany. With his trade magazine "Das Weinblatt", a weekly publication dedicated to "real viniculture and the wine trade", he started a publishing house which, now in its fourth generation, is synonymous with journalistic expertise in the fields of wine, beverages and gastronomy.

The Publishing House

Wine growers and wineries, specialist wine and spirits dealers, beverage wholesalers and retailers, food retailers, sommeliers, "in" bars and restaurants, wine lovers, and wholesalers and retailers in the field of interior design.

Activities

The main focus of the publishing house's activities is its wide portfolio of specialist magazinesbooks, specialist literature and information, both in print and digital form. It also organises trade fair events, market studies, seminars, congresses and study trips.

In addition, the publishing house's expertise in wine journalism serves as the basis for internationally recognised competitions such as the MUNDUS VINI International Wine Award and the International Spirits Award ISW.

Highest journalism standards

The publishing house sets great store by the journalistic quality of its output. This quality is not defined by our contributors, but rather by our readers, who use our publications as a basis for making business decisions. Because of this, our specialist magazines are written by journalists who identify closely with the needs of our readers.

However, this does not mean that we shy away from controversial issues within the sector – needless to say, we analyse and interpret these through the lens of quality journalism. The service that the publishing house provides for its readers involves assessing the general market situation, examining both risks and opportunities and encouraging and warning readers – in short, providing technical and business-oriented assistance in clear, accessible language.
