From sterols and omega-3 oils which contribute to a healthy lifestyle, to ingredients which help food stay fresh for longer, BASF Personal Care and Nutrition GmbH in Illertissen Germany develops and manufactures a large range of ingredients for the Food & Health ingredients Industry,all based on natural, renewable resources.

  • In your new role, you build up and manage a strong credible relationship with regional and local customers, leverage multi-level customer interactions across relevant functions and key stakeholders and act as the main commercial interface to the customer.
  • You deliver defined annual financial sales targets (net sales and profit margins), execute budget to achieve strategic product targets and maximize profitability and negotiate pricing and supply agreements as well as manage regional and global contracts.
  • Moreover, you drive the improvement of quality and customer service satisfaction – measured via business retainment / growth and surveys e.g. NPS – Net Promoter Score and foster as well as coordinate customer centric solutions in all business activities.
  • You identify and develop new business opportunities and growth at your accounts, steer and follow up on customer projects in close collaboration with Product & Technical Managers and hunt for potential new customers with entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Last but not least, you identify and share trends, market needs and challenges and you continuously educate yourself in the area of health &food performance ingredients, applications and trends, as well as on new internal and external systems, tools and practices.

  • successfully completed university degree with a focus on nutrition or business administration
  • several years of professional experience in the sales environment, ideally in a complex and intercultural business environment and preferably with knowledge of selling functional, health or performance-based ingredients
  • strong project management skills as well as good knowledge of the food ingredients industry, its supply chain and development processes
  • experience in customer-facing sales activities, esp. customer centricity, negotiation, presentation, crisis management and multi-level contact management
  • fluent in communicating and negotiating in English, ideally also French. German language skills would also be an advantage
