The Local is seeking an experienced, personable, entrepreneurial and ambitious media sales professional to join us at our Stockholm HQ.

Now it is time for us to expand our commercial operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join an ambitious and highly motivated sales team and help take our sales to the next level.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

We have an established sales operation with proven products and valuable repeat customers. Your job will build and expand on that success and take on a few existing clients, but with an even greater focus on bringing in new business from our target sectors – focusing particularly on our award-winning content offering.

Specifically, you will:

  • Drive your own sales development, from effective prospecting through to deal closing and re-selling /upselling, to ensuring that you meet or exceed your sales targets                                                           

  • Build a list of key partnerships with customers in our focus sectors: travel, financial services, executive education, expat services and government agencies

  • Build long term relationships with company owners, marketing directors, marketing managers and communications executives at direct clients and media buyers at agencies                                                  

  • Arrange and attend meetings where you will present and sell our creative content marketing solutions and partnership opportunities

  • Continuously engage with clients to understand their businesses and how The Local can best help them to communicate with our audience of high value, global ‘cosmopolitans’               

  •  Communicate and define The Local as a key communication channel for companies in sectors such as travel, financial services, executive education, expat services and government agencies

EXPECTATIONS

 

This is a challenging role in an international, innovative and growing organization, and you will need to be self-motivated, business savvy, driven, self-confident and independent.

We would like for you to have:

  • At least three years’ experience of content and digital media sales from a publisher or communications agency

  • A proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets

  • Some experience of living and working abroad and a global mindset

  • Entrepreneurial drive and a genuine passion for closing deals

  • A professional manner in all environments and with different types of decision makers

  • Experience of doing business in Sweden and an understanding of the buying process in media and communications

  • Confident spoken and written Swedish and English, additional languages a bonus
