Job Overviewn

nWe are looking for you: a self-starting, highly motivated Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our team at Silex Technology Europe in Willich, NRW. You will report to the FAE Manager as a full-time FAE at Silex Technology Europe.

As a key member of customer front-line support, you collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Regulatory Certification, and Operations. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a high sense of urgency and responsiveness to customer requests, questions, and technical support needs.nn

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:n
  • nBe the main technical point of contact for customers throughout their evaluation and design with Silex.nn

n

  • nOwn the process for design wins with our most important customers.nn

n

  • nProvide thorough and rapid answers to customer questions as well as proactively ask customer questions on critical information needed.nn

n

  • nGenerate “Request for Quotations” (RFQs) for customers who need custom work/support from engineering or regulatory certification support services.nn

n

  • nTracked and kept up-to-date notes, customer communications, project status, and customer issues (cases); used Salesforce to manage data.nn

n

  • nMaintain, prepare, and present information to the Silex team about important customer projects using PowerPoint during account review meetings.nn

n

  • nDrive customers from evaluation to production while managing all necessary technically oriented customer calls.nn

n

  • nManage post-sales technical issues and support for customers.nn

n

  • nIdentify and/or enhance application notes, user guides, quick starts, and release notes, which set Silex customer support and engagement apart from our competition.nn

n

  • nHelp customers debug wireless hardware/software/regulatory; collaborating with FAE team members and engineering as necessary.nn

n

  • nContinued education through attending webinars, reading technical papers, and deep-dive sessions given by fellow Silex colleagues.nn

n

  • nRegular and predictable attendance is required.nn

n

  • nOther duties as assigned.n

  • n3+ years in FAE or customer facing rolenn

n

  • nBachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Equivalentnn

n

  • nProject or Program Management Knoweldge & Experincenn

n

  • nMultilingual skills: English is a must, another language used in the major industrial countries in Europe, Gulf state ia a plusnn

n

  • nAbility to travel in Europe, Japan, and US in as needs basis.nn

n

  • nStrong documentation skills – ability to easily use Microsoft Office and requirement management toolnn

  • nUnderstand basic hardware (digital) schematics and power design. Ability to reference schematics when probing test points on hardware.nn

  • nCRM Experience – Salesforce is a plusnn

  • nBasic network protocol and/or RF/wireless knowledge is a plusnn

  • nExperience as a test engineer is a plusnn

n

  • nSmall/mid-size company experience is a plusnn

nYou will report to our office in Willich, NRW, and the possibility of working in a home office basis with regular visit to our office can be discussed. Occasional travel is required to support customers on-site, attend trade shows, and attend support training as necessary.nn
