We are looking for a seasoned and hands-on data engineer with proven experience in data architecture. Your main tasks will include:

  • Process analysis: learn business processes and document flows from the functional experts at the source (e.g., SAP, Salesforce.com)
  • Data pipeline development: build ETL processes and real-time data processing pipelines by leveraging agile practices with later automation in mind (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Matillion)
  • Data warehousing: design and model the data warehouse curated zone and optimize for business value and efficiency, specifically Data Vault, preferably on Snowflake
  • Collaboration and communication: work with BI specialists and IT experts and document data processes and architectures in our data catalog (e.g., Collibra)
  • Community enablement: share your knowledge with business stakeholders and technical experts

  • Preference for agile software development practices
  • Proven ability to design scalable and efficient data models, specifically but not exclusively leveraging Data Vault
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala and SQL
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and ETL tools
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure, understanding strengths and weaknesses of the platform
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric
  • Proficient use of Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Independent and solution-driven way of working
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
