Phaseform, a pioneering company in the Optics industry based in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, is looking for a Development Engineer (m/f/d) to join their innovative team. As a spinoff from the Department of Microsystems/University of Freiburg, Phaseform specializes in discovering novel applications for adaptive optics in life and vision sciences. - Developing production tools for our new product line on adaptive optics technology;
- Performing technology development tasks in collaboration with the IMTEK of the University of Freiburg;
- Investigate market opportunities, prepare and accompany market launches and support early customers.
- MS/PhD in engineering or a related field, or 5+ years related experience, particularly in the fields of mechanical/optomechanical/electronics engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Background in technical product development and new product introduction;
- Experience with development of production systems, -lines, manufacturing automation and robotics;
- Knowledge of production tooling UX/UI programming;
- Good proficiency of English and eligibility to work in Germany are a prerequisite.
It is considered desirable if in addition you have one or more of the following:
- Background in material sciences or optofluidics;
- Experience in production outsourcing;
- Experience with clean-room and microfabrication;
- Knowledge of adaptive optics;
- Product management experience;
- Entrepreneurial / startup experience or -spirit.
