Description
With our strong brands GMX, WEB.DE and mail.com and over 43 million active users, we are the leading email and communications platform in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From this strong market position, services and apps are developed that simplify users’ digital lives – from office tools and cloud solutions to personal ID management.
Your Tasks
Are you interested in topics such as Load Balancing, Edge Gateways, and SDN in a highly available and load-intensive modern infrastructure for more than 43 million users? You’re not only using technology, you push it to its limits and beyond? Then we are looking for you! We’re responsible for impressive scales: Hundreds of petabytes of storage, 3.5 billion active logins per day and nearly half an exabyte of internet traffic annually. Work with your team and colleagues to develop new solutions for Application Delivery and Load Balancing for Germany’s leading email and cloud providers WEB.DE and GMX.
- You will design, develop, and operate new technologies and products for observability, intrusion detection, exfiltration prevention, DNS infrastructure and firewalls in close cooperation with experts and colleagues, substantially driving architectural decisions forward.
- You will work “hands-on” on sustainable solutions from concept via go-live to shut-down, including automating processes and creating transparency about the status of systems.
- You are the contact person for technical questions, interface between network conception and application operations, supporting colleagues in the use and optimization of network segmentation and firewalling.
- You keep the systems running, identify anomalies and get to the bottom of them.
Your Profile
You have a technical degree or a comparable qualification? You strive for Infrastructure-as-Code? Quality and sustainability are your focus? You are passionate about agile and DevOps principles and continuous learning in a collaborative environment? You are a true team player, and your work attitude is “hands-on”? Then we are looking forward to your application!
- You have several years of experiences with L7 Load Balancing and the relevant protocols such as HTTP and TLS, ideally already in interaction with Kubernetes.
- You have solid knowledge in L3-Routing, BGP, and VXLAN and an interest in intrusion detection and protecting systems on applications (WAF) and network level (DDoS) and are familiar with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- You are Linux literate, an advocate of smart use of automation frameworks and fit in at least one modern programming language like Go or Python.
- You have strong communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate your ideas clearly and to put them successfully into practice.
