We are currently looking for a highly motivated Engineer Advanced Technology (M/F/D) to join our Advanced Technology team in Berlin, Germany. Adtran’s Advanced Technology group develops the optical networking technology of the future and initiates their transition into Adtran’s products. In this group, there is an opportunity for a motivated and creative engineer or physicist to work towards

and essential functions

  • Performing research and development for the next generation of passive optical networks
  • Investigation and development of methods for the transmission convergence layer of passive optical networks
  • Simulation of passive optical networks on protocol level
  • Cooperation with national and international project partners
  • Internal subproject lead for research and advanced development projects
  • Creative application of knowledge and experience in the fields of passive optical networks (e.g. resource allocation, energy saving, optimization

and experience required

  • Diploma/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related area
  • Good programming skills (Python, C++)
  • Good knowledge in optical transmission techniques and network technology
  • Ideally experience in one or more of the following topics: coherent optical transmission, digital modulation techniques, machine learning
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Innovative, highly motivated personality
  • Fluent in oral and written English, fluency in German is a plus
  • Capability to think strategic, innovative,
