BBIS has an opening for an External Boarding Mentor (f/m/d)

  • Support other boarding staff to ensure the safe and secure operation of boarding
  • Attend to boarders who are absent from school.
  • Maintain records of illness, referrals, and appointments, and pass on relevant information to boarding staff, parents and medical staff, ensuring the medical database and ManageBac is updated.
  • Liaise with the cleaning and maintenance team to ensure that the boarding house is a clean, tidy and homely environment.
  • Ensure boarding is consistently presented to a high standard and assist with updating notice boards and displays.
  • Make regular inspections of student rooms.
  • Order, receive and store deliveries, including student provisions and ensure the appropriate stock levels in kitchens.
  • Monitor visitors and students signing-in and out from school.
  • Support the boarding students in their everyday lives throughout their time boarding at BBIS.

Important: Before beginning the employment at BBIS, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided.
  • The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree
  • An extended certificate of conduct that must not be older than six months.

These documents are required to comply with legal and internal employment regulations.

Full-Time: 31 working hours per week
Start date: 1st August 2025
Limited initially until 31st July 2026

Shift pattern for 2025/26 is as follows:

  • Mondays – 10am to 8pm
  • Tuesdays – 12.15pm to 8pm
  • Saturdays – 4pm to 11.30pm, plus overnight duty
  • Sundays – 11.30am to 10pm

A private apartment will be provided for the overnight duty which runs until 7am. You are not expected to remain awake during the night, but be contactable on the emergency phone.
