To accelerate our success and growth within the European Market, Edmund Optics in Mainz is looking for a

Finance Manager EMEA (f/m/d)

  • Manage a small accounting team to ensure processing of accounting tasks such as general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, cost accounting
  • Coordinate payment processing for Germany and France
  • Lead cooperation with external tax advisors in different European countries
  • Prepare and review internal and external financial reports (closing work and reporting, ad hoc calculations, and reports on demand) and presentations to management and other key stakeholders
  • Develop long-term business strategies and prepare the relevant input from the finance side
  • Develop, implement and monitor budget plan and forecast works for Germany and France
  • Monitor the financial performance of the business, analyze cost structures, identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems together with the business
  • Help to set KPIs and develop measures to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Liaise with third party suppliers (i.e. leased company cars, facility management)
  • Assist with local insurance companies while liaising with corporate functions
  • Serve as main contact for financial, tax, customs, and social security authorities in local matters
  • Provide professional support and counsel to other European locations

  • Degree in business administration with a focus on finance and tax law or qualification as a certified accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”)
  • Min. 10 years of experience in accounting, controlling, ideally in an international operating company
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards according to HGB and US GAAP, ideally, experience with accounting processes in other European countries
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Analytical thinking skills and a structured, detail-oriented work approach
  • Fluent in German and English; additional language skills are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
