We develop in our department current and future generations of driver assistant systems and autonomous driving functions for Mercedes-Benz AG.

Main task for us is to provide a compute platform to host all kind of functional algorithms including heavy loads of AI compute.

Neural Networks (NN) are being deployed increasingly in safety-critical scenes, e.g., automotive systems and their platforms. Various fault tolerance/detection methods can be adopted to ensure that the computation of the ML.

Your Tasks:

You will be performing fault injection test and evaluations on false positive and true negative results In addition, you will be working on improving algorithmic based fault tolerance Use research tools that help determine the lifetime and locality of intermediate tensors of NN inference in heterogeneous platforms Formulate a “safety footprint” metric for HPs based on (1.) Perform an experimental assessment for an existing automotive compute platform

  • Studies in the field of computer science or comparable studies
  • Very good communication skills and proficiency in English and German
  • Experiences with MS-Office
  • Very good knowledge of Linux, (embedded) C/C++, Python
  • Engagement
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Analytical way of thinking and strategic way of working
