functions
- Operate and maintain semi-automated opto-mechanical stations
- Develop and integrate new stations and processes
- Assisting in assembly and characterization of micro optics elements (chip polishing, fiber-to-chip attachment), inspection and quality assurance
- Management of the laboratory and assuring smooth day to day operations
- Build and maintain inventory list of lab equipment, maintain library of operation manuals and calibration procedures
- Implement periodic calibration routines of lab equipmen
- Characterize and check proper operation of lab measurement equipment
- Maintain supply levels of lab consumables and assure day to day operations
- Handle equipment purchase orders, follow process or procurement
experience required
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Prior experience working in electrical engineering, optical, semiconductor manufacturing labs or cleanrooms
- Knowledge in using electrical equipment, such as VNA, high speed RF cabling, electrical probes, voltage supplies, bias tees, etc
- Knowledge of fiber optics
- Crafty and with ‘can do’ attitude in tackling daily lab operation
- Good understanding or mechanical properties of materials
- Bonus for understanding semiconductor physics and polymer chemistry,
