Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.

As Lead Project Execution – Land Station & Integration for the HVDC Offshore Grid Connection System BalWin5 you will take over the responsibility for the construction phase of the Land Station in Bremen/Werderland, the coordination of the allocated Offshore Wind Farm connection, the preparation of the overall system commissioning and the handover to the operating units. You will hierarchical lead a team of (Sub) Project Leads and report to the respective Project Director. The project activities include continuous alignment with contractors and other stakeholders (e. g. OWF and other TSOs).

  • Contributing actively to a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and partners;
  • Aligning with experts and teams within Large Projects Offshore and various other departments within TenneT and taking into account lessons learned from other large projects;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, requirements and goals set for HSE, time, risk, quality and the framework of TenneT’s corporate manuals and guidelines;
  • Manage the respective budget in an efficient and responsible manner;
  • Delivering high quality project reports as well as decision documents and evaluations for Grid Connection Systems and support implementing Project Steering Group decisions.

Leading People:

  • Setting up, staffing and (hierarchically) leading an efficient dedicated team, focussing on realizing the project goals and ambitions as well as TenneT’s broader goals;
  • You coach, inspire and actively develop employees and you align proactively hereto with other projects and line management;
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within LPO and the 2GW departments;
  • Ensure that team members have the necessary skills, training and resources to perform their roles effectively.

Leading Change:

  • Support and actively drive improvement initiatives within the 2GW program

  • You preferably have a Master degree in engineering and an academic level in thinking and working. Additionally you have at least 3+ years of experience in a comparable job and are familiar with managing big infrastructure projects, especially also with offshore experience
  • You are a manager with strong technical and leadership skills as well as a natural, servant leader who can inspire teams
  • You are dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated without ‘nine to five-mentality’
  • You are fluent in English and German and are willing to travel as per project needs
  • You are preferably IPMA D certified or open to obtain
