Starting: February 2025 (Maternity Leave Cover, approx. 1.5 years)

Working Hours: Full-time, 187 days per year, 40 hours/week

Salary Placement: In-house collective agreement

  • To work in accordance with the school’s mission statement and policies, following school practices and IB framework
  • To design and deliver engaging classes as allocated by the Secondary School Principal
  • To work in close collaboration with other teachers to plan and implement the teaching and learning of the German curriculum within the Middle and Diploma Years Programmes
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school, staying abreast of current best practices in language education and pedagogy
  • To assess, monitor and record student progress in an appropriate manner
  • To be an advisor in our Secondary Advisory Programme
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language development and cultural understanding

  • Bachelor’s in Education or comparable degree, preferably with successful 1st and 2nd state examinations, according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)
  • Native speaker of German
  • Teaching certification with a focus on German language instruction
  • Ability to teach German Language and Literature at the middle school level is highly desirable
  • Ability to teach French Language Acquisition at the middle school level is highly desirable
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate MYP and DP framework is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
