BBIS has an opening for a Live-in Mentor (f/m/d)

  • Assisting with a system of support, monitoring, evaluation and progression of all matters concerning the boarding students
  • Sustaining and developing the boarding activities, events and trip programme and supporting other boarding staff with event planning and leading activities
  • Taking responsibility for the safety, security, behaviour and welfare of the boarders, when on duty
  • Mentoring boarding students, recording conversations, contacting parents, and supervising visitors
  • Working together with the boarding staff team to create a friendly and inclusive, “home away from home”
  • Any other duties to ensure the safe and secure operation of boarding at BBIS

  • Educated to degree level in a subject such as social work, teaching, pedagogy or youth work
  • The stamina and dedication to live and work in a boarding environment Relevant experience working with students in a residential or pastoral setting
  • Confident, self-motivated and with great people skills
  • Experience of collaborating and working in teams
  • Driving licence with permission to drive in Germany
  • Comfortable to drive a manual transmission 7 passenger van

Important: Before beginning the employment at BBIS, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided.
  • The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree
  • An extended certificate of conduct that must not be older than six months.

These documents are required to comply with legal and internal employment regulations.

Full-time: 40 hours per week
Start date: 1st. August 2025
Limited initially until 31.07.2026

This is a full-time, term-time role, with a working schedule of mornings, afternoons, overnight duties and weekends. A one-bed apartment, inclusive of utilities, is provided at a substantially reduced rate but residence on-campus is essential.
