The sustainability team at adidas creates sustainability intelligence and enablers to create transparency and inform decisions. This team tracks the environmental impact, gives guidance on the sustainable business plan implementation, and provides the long-term sustainability roadmap for the company.
The team is made up of talented and passionate sustainability experts with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We are at the forefront of influencing and shaping the sustainability journey of adidas and of the sporting goods industry overall. Working across all functions and creating next generation impactful and innovative sustainability strategies.
Decarbonization is driving the next major transformation that will fundamentally change markets and companies. adidas will continue being in the front of this change. The Manager LCA and Sustainability will support the Sustainability department as the expert in the Life Cycle Analysis.
This role will research, coordinate, recommend actions, and help lead exceptional work that aligns with our sustainability principles.
- Develop and manage LCA models for materials, products, and processes, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
- Create and maintain processes to convert product data into LCA inputs, performing quality checks on automated processes
- Use data analytics to enhance LCA studies, analyze large datasets, and support sustainability reporting
- Assist with product and corporate footprint calculations and reporting (Scope 1, 2, and 3)
- Present LCA findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, outlining the framework for environmental impact assessments
- Collect information, identify key issues, compare data, and recommend solutions
The ideal candidate will require knowledge of appropriate ISO standards, as well as ability to work with data collection and software systems such as SimaPro, GaBi and Ecoinvent.
- 4+ years of relevant experience, particularly in LCA modelling within corporate value chains, ideally in the textile and/or footwear sector
- Strong knowledge and passion for sustainability, environmental systems, life cycle thinking, product sustainability, and climate change
- Proficient with LCA databases (e.g., Ecoinvent, GaBi) and database software programs
- Familiar with LCA standards and guidelines (e.g., EU PEF, ISO 14040/44, ISO 14064/67).
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with attention to detail and quality
- Experienced in data analysis and data visualization
- Effective at communicating environmental and social impact measurements
- Proven ability to work closely with various enterprise functions (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Design, etc.)
- Capable of working under pressure, demonstrating creative thinking, and handling complex problems in a timely manner
- Fluent in English
