The Rastatt plant with around 6,600 employees is the competence center for compact vehicle models from Mercedes-Benz. The models, A-, B- and GLA-Class as well as the EQA (fully electric), are currently manufactured in Rastatt. In 2025, the next highly innovative series will follow at the promising Rastatt location with the launch of the follow-up Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) series.

We in interior installation department in assembly hall 4.1 are responsible for the first three main lines of EQA as well as B and GLA class production. This includes for example the door pre-assembly, embossing the vehicle identification number as well as window and sunroof installation.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for on-site supervision of the assembly scope and mechanization of the interior installation in the assembly hall 4.1 and will actively contribute to ensuring that our customers receive their vehicles on time and in best quality.

For this challenging and exciting area of responsibility, we are looking for you as an “Operations Engineer for Interior Installation Assembly in Rastatt Plant”.

What you can expect:

  • Define and implement measures to achieve goals regarding quality, quantity, deadlines, standards as well as continuous contribution to increasing efficiency
  • Launch preparation for the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) series: coordinate processes and concepts, upgrade the system, ensure the maturity level of the components, etc.
  • Development of suggestions within the framework of difficult planning tasks and problem-solving processes (e.g. regarding operating resources and systems, production sequences, etc.)
  • Working through new production documents/ programs and orders (e.g. for new launches, type additions, model updates) and clarifying any ambiguities
  • Defining and suggesting complex optimization measures, i.e. systematically analyzing problems using digital tools and AI, defining and coordinating measures and checking the success of the measures
  • Creation of service specifications taking into account specifications (guidelines, laws, delivery regulations) for complex equipment/services
  • Participation in projects and working groups

What you should bring with you:

  • Degree in a technical field, e.g. industrial engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Ideally initial practical experience in automotive production
  • Methodical problem solving skills, ideally SixSigma Greenbelt
  • Understanding of complex technical systems
  • Proficient written and spoken German and English
  • Experience with new technologies, flexibility and willingness to help shape new processes as part of the digital transformation
  • Personal strengths: interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, communication skills, independence, ability to work in a team and enthusiasm
