The position will be based in Dusseldorf, to cover projects within Germany and possibly other countries (Netherland, Belgium, Poland), reporting to CIE’s Energy Transition Delivery Director based in France (Paris). The position requires travels in Europe and regular presence on Site during construction phases (typically twice a month). Once the project is awarded and handed over to the Project Execution phase, the CI Owner Project Director is responsible for Project Execution, aiming at ensuring excellence in successful investment delivery and ensuring Air Liquide’s commitments toward its customers. When the execution phase is being finalized the Owner Project Director will hand over the newly built plant to the subsidiary plant manager responsible for the plant operations.
As Owner Project Director, your main missions will be as follows :

Lead Project Development: Direct the creation of the best technical and economic solutions that meet customer needs, supporting the Business Developer

Ensure Local Compliance: Take charge of integrating local requirements (land, utilities, permits, funding) into the project’s definition and execution. Oversee collaboration with engineering teams to ensure the project’s budget, schedule, and technical scope are met.

Drive Risk Management: Lead the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of project risks, ensuring proactive management. Ensure the technical consistency of the proposal and alignment with all AL stakeholders. Represent the Owner, making key decisions on budget, schedule, risk, and overall project direction, ensuring the investment’s success.Take ownership of health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring they are upheld across the project. Serve as the key point of contact for the customer on all technical and project-related matters.

Oversee Contracts: Manage all EPC contracts, ensuring vendor and subcontractor alignment with the Project Execution Plan. Regularly track project progress, provide updates to senior management, and present to the Project Steering Committee. Lead activities related to land, permitting, utilities, and site infrastructure agreements, ensuring timely execution.

You have an Engineering Diploma
-
You have been exposed to site activities and carried out projects in Germany where you managed subcontractors or contractors

Additionally you directly managed industrial projects in execution phase

Knowledge of EPC capital project definition and execution

Technical knowledge consistent with the project scope

Financial knowledge to contribute optimizing the ROI

You are fluent in English and German
