We are looking to fill a position for a
PhD student (m/f/d)

Contribution and your own qualification (doctorate) as part of the nutritional research project ‘Bioavailability of different vitamin E sources in cattle and pigs’ by the two working groups Nutritional Physiology and Metabolic Health.
Your main task is to investigate the kinetics of vitamin E after oral application of various vitamin E forms and its relationship to immunological and antioxidative parameters in young pigs and cattle. The task includes experiments with animals and laboratory analytical work.

– University degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural science, nutrition science, biology or a comparable field of study
– Basic knowledge in animal nutrition and metabolic physiology, interest and high motivation to work in the laboratory (analysis of metabolites) and with animals
– Knowledge of handling farm animals is advantageous, but not a requirement
– Knowledge of statistical data analysis
– Ability to work in a team, commitment, creativity and initiative in the fulfilment of tasks
– Good English language skills, both written and spoken (willingness to learn German language)
