We, the Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG and the subsidiary RENAC energy & climate gGmbH, are internationally oriented training providers specialising in renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, and fields of application for green hydrogen and power-to-X. We offer online courses, in-person training in Germany and abroad, set up local training structures, implement study courses in cooperation with universities, and organise events as part of the German Energy Solutions initiative.
Since our establishment in 2008, we have trained and educated more than 33,000 participants from the public, private and financial sector in over 170 countries. Our headquarters are in Berlin Mitte, and we currently have 50 permanent employees. Our eLearning portfolio on green energy topics consists of about 130 courses between 10 and 220 hours of self-learning time covering technical, economic and legal aspects and is unique worldwide. We are looking for a full-time (38.5 h/week) Proposal and Business Development Manager (Renewable Energies) to join our team in Berlin.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team, identifying business opportunities in the international capacity building sector. Additionally, the candidate will design, draft, calculate, and present proposals in response to tenders in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors.
Aufgaben
Your impact and responsibilities:
- Business Opportunities: Identify and evaluate business opportunities in project tenders specifically related to renewable energies.
- Proposal Oversight: Lead the project and proposal design process, including planning, writing, and budgeting for renewable energy capacity building projects.
- Proposal Drafting: Coordinate and draft technical and financial proposals that meet tender requirements.
- Tender Management: Apply for project tenders and manage the tender process from start to finish.
- Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date with relevant tender processes and regulations, as well as market trends in renewable energies and energy efficiency.
- Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with technical departments during all stages of project development.
- Manage and effectively respond to requests for quotations related to the programs and services offered by RENAC.
- Develop business proposals for grant projects, ensuring alignment with RENAC strategies and objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a compact and energetic business development and sales team.
- Representation: Represent RENAC at public and private events.
Qualifikation
What you should bring with you:
- Proposal Experience: Proven experience in overseeing and writing proposals for technical assistance projects.
- Tender Experience: Knowledge of tender processes for institutions such as GIZ, EU, World Bank, KfW, UN, or ISA.
- CapacityWorks Knowledge: Familiarity with GIZ’s CapacityWorks processes.
- Project Planning: Experience in project planning and budgeting, with a clear understanding of complex tender processes.
- Technical and Legal Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of tender processes and the associated technical and legal requirements.
- Market Knowledge: Comprehensive overview of the renewable energy market.
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills in English and German.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform precise calculations.
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Ability to assess which tenders to pursue and which to decline.
- Soft Skills: Effective team management and a gentle approach with team members.
- Networking: Ability to build and maintain networks within the industry.
Education:
- Degree: University degree in a related field (engineering, business, etc.) preferred.
