About the Role:

We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our software engineering team and co-build our global data commerce platform that makes commercial data sharing easy. As an individual contributor, you will build impactful features for a large international user base and continuously ship high-quality code. Being a proven team player, you’re used to give and receive code reviews, quickly learning from senior engineers and coaching juniors. As a site reliability engineer you feel highly comfortable to tackle challenges together with the team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute acceptance testing of tickets and ensure smooth releases
  • Test automation of recurring test cases (e.g. Cucumber / BDD tests)
  • Pipeline support for CI / CD together with the other engineers
  • Strive for transparency of the platform health state and support risk mitigation
  • Support the definition of quality gates and ensuring they are met
  • Ensure flawless journeys: QA of tickets means diving deep into the Acceptance Criteria, catching every edge case

Our Tech Challenges:

  • Enabling easy data product creation from tabular datasets as well as unstructured datasets such as image data, video data, audio data, and text data located in our customers’ data warehouses
  • Selecting the right technology partners and implementing an end-to-end data commerce platform to facilitate data subscription management, global tax-compliant billing, B2B payment processing, and cross-cloud data fulfillment
  • Building and maintaining API integrations with data marketplaces such as Google Cloud Analytics Hub, Databricks Marketplace, SAP Datasphere Marketplace, Snowflake Marketplace, AWS Data Exchange, Datarade Marketplace, and hundreds more
  • Transforming our RoR monolith into a more modular approach to decrease code dependency between different products

Our Tech Stack: Ruby on Rails, Javascript, Kubernetes, Terraform, DigitalOcean, AWS, Docker, Gitlab, Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Rudderstack, etc.

Job requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in QA of web applications and API development
  • Relevant experience in both: manual and automated testing
  • Code affinity – programming test cases and optimization of CI/CD pipelines are self evident parts of your daily work
  • Strong ownership and sense for responsibility, know how to prioritize and evaluate criticality
  • Agile team experience – you know that software development is an iterative process and team effort

  • You worked in multiple dev teams with different setups, practices, and stacks
  • You have a degree in computer science, information systems, application programming, or similar
  • You worked on e-commerce platforms and online marketplaces

  • You have the ambition to become a team leader and shape the team
  • You have experience and affinity to coach junior engineers
