Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(100 %, Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L)

initially limited for 2 years with the option of continued employment. Selection is based on suitability, qualification and professional performance. Temporary employment is subject to the provisions of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG) and the Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz (SächsHSG) as amended.

  • Development, conceptualization, and design of manufacturing processes and the required tools
  • Development, conceptualization, and design of heating processes
  • Development of test stands and support for experimental investigations
  • Process documentation, including material and component characterization
  • Project management: conceptualization, initiation, and execution of research and industrial projects
  • Writing scientific papers or contributing to technical articles
  • Teaching activities (preparation of teaching materials, organization, planning, and execution of exercises, practical courses, and lectures) – 4 LVS

In your position as a research assistant (m/f/d), you will have a high degree of creative freedom and can actively shape your field of research in this way. Our aim is to publish research results. The position also offers you the opportunity and freedom to gain further academic qualifications such as a doctoral title.

If you want to join our interdisciplinary and highly motivated team in academically exploring a topic of high practical relevance, you should bring along the following qualifications and traits:

  • Formal requirements: higher education degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, lightweight construction, plastics engineering, materials science, mechatronics, or a comparable field of study that qualifies for the corresponding level of qualification.
  • Desirable skills and knowledge:
    • Experience in the field of forming technology (process, tools, process visualization, etc.).
    • Knowledge of commercial design software products.
    • Familiarity with commercial FEM software.
    • Excellent German and English language skills.
    • Experience in the economic evaluation of R&D projects.
  • Ability to work in a team.

You must also fulfill the recruitment requirements according to § 73 SächsHSG.
