Our Finance team is looking for a commercially driven, strategically thinking and experienced Senior Accountant to lead, under direct supervision of the department Head, the accounting aspects of our business. Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading Entrix’s, and Flexa’s (a JV of Entrix & ENPAL) accounting processes. You will be given the chance to define processes and standards from scratch, challenge the status quo, and establish scalable & future-proof ways of work. As a company, we embrace automation, and expect our new colleague to carry this mindset too.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accounting Trusted Advisor: be the department’s Head go-to person for all accounting-related questions. Willingness to research extensively new topics, in a rather complicated but exciting industry.
- Refine and conduct the monthly closing cadences: controlling book-keeping entries, ensuring compliance with regulation. This also involves correct handling of accruals, depreciation, updates of CoA / Cost Centers etc.
- VAT Handling: refunds claims submission, evaluation of alternative structures / ways that have positive effect on our liquidity.
- AP/AR Ownership: regular updates & follow-up internally / externally
- Consolidation & JVs: consolidate results of DE and non-DE entities.
- Yearly Submission: full ownership of the official Financial Reports submission, as well as any tax matters that arise.
- Initial Research on Accounting Matters Abroad: run first deep-dive on accounting / tax related matters on other countries; handle discussions with local accounting teams / partners abroad.
- Strategic Insights: work closely with the rest of the team on the management & investor reporting; support with due-diligence (especially during fund-raising period).
- Payroll (Bonus): not a must; however, candidates who have experience in handling payroll will have an advantage.
- Language Requirement: German (C1+), English (C1)
Your Profile
Mandatory Requirements:
- Highly trusted person; eagerness to get things done; resilience. Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, and willingness to take over new tasks, as they arise.
- Degree in Accounting, Business, or a similar quantitative field.
- Technical Requirement: Certified Accountant (German HGB)
- DATEV Experience (Professional Level; confident to be the “go-to” person)
- 6+ years of experience as an accountant, ideally in a high-growth environment
- Strategic Thinking: proven examples of “big picture” thinking, and of taking initiative / driving projects
- German (able to read HGB regulation with high confidence & speak with Tax Authorities), Fluent in English (C1 written and spoken).
Skills to Set You Apart
- Experience in high-growth startups or scale-ups
- Proven experience leading complex accounting set-ups, with JVs, Subsidiaries abroad, and rather complex transactions (for example, negative prices on commodities etc)
- Strong understanding of FP&A processes and its success factors
