Circunomics GmbH was founded in 2019 and is already one of the leading companies in battery circularity. The company is based in Mainz. Founders Felix Wagner and Jan Born have set themselves the goal of establishing a circular battery economy by inspiring a movement of taking batteries from first-life in electric vehicles to second-life applications and finally recycling any remaining raw materials.

The Circunomics team has developed an innovative digital marketplace where digital “circular twins” can be registered, tracked, and traded for battery packs. The company has been supported thus far by seed investors and business angels. Startup builder Next Mobility Labs, recycler TES, Orlen VC, and Dr. Peter Mertens, former Chief Technology Officer of Audi, are some key players.

US-based company Frost & Sullivan awarded Circunomics the 2023 Market Leadership Award. The award identified Circunomics as the best in class in the European circular marketplace for the battery trading industry.

Most recently, Circunomics was awarded 2nd Best StartUp 2023 within the automotive industry by Automobilwoche.

Your mission

You will

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to increase market share, identify new opportunities, and drive revenue growth in the recycling and energy sectors
  • Support managing the sales cycle and holding responsibility for your assigned clients and target industry.
  • Identify and evaluate growth potentials and technology trends in the battery industry as well as the second-life market, recycling industry, and other relevant industries.
  • Create reports and sales presentations to support the growth of commercial and partnership stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate customer intelligence base for future product development.
  • Conduct and drive relevant market and competitive intelligence in close alignment with the head of sales and the team.
  • Work closely with marketing to develop and execute strategic campaigns.
  • Provide market feedback to the product manager, designer, and tech team to improve Circunomics products and services.
  • Representation of Circunomics and active participation at trade shows, conferences, client meetings, and industrial and academic networks

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MBA, sales, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing and executing recycling and energy storage accounts and selling high-end technology solutions.
  • Proven experience working with EV players, energy storage companies, recyclers, or within the second-life market of lithium-ion batteries.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and achieving ambitious targets.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to challenges and getting things done perspective.
  • Excellent communication skills in the English and German languages. Bonus points for
  • Experience in greentech startups, IoT, or energy is an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in acquiring and managing key accounts.
  • Technical understanding is a plus
  • Interest in Automotive / Car’s/ electric Vehicle is a Plus
