Our client, a prominent international bank with a strong presence in Frankfurt, is seeking a (Senior) Credit Specialist (m/f/d) to lead a talented group of credit professionals. The role focuses on ensuring efficient loan processing, financial analysis, and monitoring credit risks in the corporate sector. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end loan processing and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves both operational tasks, such as evaluating debt service capability and preparing credit proposals, and strategic oversight, such as team management and continuous process improvement.

  • Conduct financial analysis and evaluate the debt service capability of borrowers.
  • Prepare and present proposals for credit decisions, including credit applications and creditworthiness assessments.
  • Draft and review standard loan agreements and coordinate with external legal advisors for more complex documentation, such as certificates of indebtedness and syndicated loans.
  • Monitor ongoing loans, ensuring that payments are made and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Collaborate closely with other group entities, clients, and regulatory bodies, handling correspondence in both German and English.
  • Potentially mentor or lead staff within the team, ensuring alignment with established guidelines and best practices.
  • Actively support the structuring of new business and provide input on the regulatory reporting process, including KYC data, large-scale and million loans, and AnaCredit compliance.
  • Oversee loan booking and data processing while ensuring smooth communication with the Service Center regarding inquiries.

  • Apprenticeship in banking or a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in loan processing, including financial analysis and credit evaluation.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to lead and mentor a team is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation, with knowledge of certificates of indebtedness and syndicated loans preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including the German Banking Act (KWG), CRD, and CRR, as well as experience with collateral evaluation and loan booking.
  • Business-fluent in both German and English; knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
