Description

We are a SaaS company founded in 2020 and based in Hamburg. At cofenster, we are revolutionizing the way large organizations create videos. Whether for internal or external communication, our platform simplifies the entire video production process from start to finish. For example, professional videos for the entire employee lifecycle can be produced quickly and easily. Our team consists of curious and ambitious people from all over the world, who are united by the mission to enable and strengthen authentic communication in an increasingly digital business world.

Are you excited to help us revolutionize the way people work? Let’s talk!

Role

Our goal is to make professional video communication simple and empathetic, by building an approachable and user-friendly video editor — and you get to bring that vision to life!

As a fullstack engineer, you will join our cross-functional team working on the core cofenster product. You will be working on a mix of exciting new feature development (including documentation and tests) as well as ongoing maintenance work such as technical debt management and refactoring on our core platform.

Tasks

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Take part in the definition and development of the core cofenster product in our product team, principally working on feature development
  • Contribute to bettering the cofenster codebase by organizing refactoring and suggesting improvements
  • Actively champion the move towards a more accessible product, enabling everyone, disabled people included, to use cofenster
  • Develop and iterate on typically less valued disciplines such as security, accessibility, testability and performance
  • Work closely with other disciplines and teams such as designers and customer support representatives

Requirements

What you should bring

  • Proficiency in JavaScript (preferably TypeScript), as it is used from frontend to backend, as well as part of infrastructure
  • An eye for product design, including knowledge of digital accessibility in order to keep improving our product for all our customers
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and building interfaces with code (HTML, CSS, accessibility, interface design)
  • Comfort in backend technologies such as Node.js, GraphQL, Prisma and AWS
  • Experience with automated testing in order to contribute to the development of our QA pipeline (for instance Jest, Cypress or other testing frameworks)
  • Ability to work efficiently in an agile team, ideally with some experience having worked on a SaaS product before
