Description

Quantum Systems specializes in the development, design, and production of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). The company’s range of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) sUAS are built to maximize range and versatility and to provide operators with a seamless user experience. By integrating cutting-edge software capabilities, like edge computing and real-time AI-powered data processing, Quantum Systems is building next-generation UAS for clients in the defense, security, and public sectors.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer in the N3XT team you will play a key role in developing Quantum-Systems’ next generation of groundbreaking UxS and C-UxS platforms. Your main responsibility will be to design and implement high-performance, resource-efficient software and algorithms for autonomous systems. From initial concept to production-ready solutions, you will ensure robust architecture, code quality, and technical excellence.

Based in Gilching, you’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists, following an agile and methodical approach.

What is Your Day-to-Day Mission?

  • Conceve and implement and optimize algorithms for autonomous UxS and C-UxS systems, including control loops, signal processing, and dynamic modeling.
  • Analyze complex system behaviors and translate them into reliable software solutions.
  • Develop high-performance, resource-efficient software in C++ (preferred) or Rust/Julia/C.
  • Own tasks end-to-end: from concept to delivery with minimal supervision.
  • Design robust, maintainable architectures for production-grade autonomous platforms.

  • Works independently: understands tasks, structures them clearly, and delivers working results.
  • Writes fast, clean, resource-efficient code; performance is a core focus.
  • Strong in C++ (preferred) or Rust/Julia/C; experienced in performance tuning and systems programming.
  • Experience with autonomous systems and common autopilot software (PX4, Ardupilot, iNav, Betaflight) is a major plus.
  • Familiar with control loops, signal processing, and dynamic systems; simulation experience is a plus.
  • Quality-driven: testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and documentation are standard practice.
  • Proven track record building production-grade, maintainable software with robust architecture.
  • Methodical and precise: improves unclear processes, works analytically with technical depth.
  • Understands complex system behavior and translates it into software.

  • Be at the forefront of next-generation UAV innovation.
  • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment where your ideas make an impact.
  • Collaborate with a team of industry pioneers who are ambitious, bold, and visionary.
  • Opportunities for individual and professional growth in a globally recognized organization.
  • Help shape the future of aerial technology and data.
