We are currently looking for a Senior Specialist – Compliance & Data Protection (m/f/d) , to join our Legal and Finance team as a permanent employee in full time.

New interdisciplinary role with a focus on Compliance (incl. Financial Services and Regulatory), Data Protection, and Risk Management.

You will be the primary contact point of contact for employees, management, website users, regulators, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure the group has appropriate systems and controls in place to manage its compliance obligations.
  • Provide strategic advice to the C-level on the consumer credit market and the group’s future including risks posed by the current and forecasted economic climate.
  • Assist in the UK FCA approval process and ensure the business complies with its FCA regulatory obligations including, but not limited to, the requirements of consumer duty, data reporting requirements, and attendance at FCA events, workshops, and seminars.
  • Monitor and maintain the group-wide, internal, and external data protection organization.
  • Be leading the technical & conceptual design and development of organizational and regulatory requirements for major corporate governance elements (e.g. Risk Management and Authorities).
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects such as IT security certifications.
  • Be working very closely with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders such as Executive Management, 1st line process owners, Financial Auditors, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience in Compliance, Financial Services, Data Protection, or Risk Management, preferably with a Big4 or international law firm background.
  • Expertise in relevant regulations such as German Corporate Governance Codex, IDW PS standards e.g. 340, 980 & 982, as well as specific knowledge of the regulatory rules, in particular those under SYSC, CONC, SUP, PRI, and DISP in relation to requirements for consumer credit brokers and thorough knowledge of the SMCR regime.
  • A hands-on mentality and interest to take on new challenges and learn new processes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate different tasks across multiple teams with high personal engagement.
  • The ability to effectively translate legal, regulatory, and governmental requirements for operational teams and to effective communication of concrete decision-making material for stakeholders.
  • Personal credibility – you must build and maintain trusting relationships with others and take ownership of issues where required.
  • Excellent level language skills in English (speaking and writing)
  • Profound knowledge of Germany + UK and basic skills in monitoring local regulations within further core markets FR, US, ES.
