Description
Nano4Imaging is an innovative medical technology company focused on advancing MRI-guided procedures. Our developments in MR-compatible devices and AI-software are helping shape the future of interventional radiology and cardiology. We work closely with research institutions and hospitals worldwide to translate innovative ideas into clinical solutions. We offer a student Internship/Thesis in the field of:
Cleanroom Production Automation for Heat-treating Medical Instruments
Fiber composite materials can be used to create metal free MRI-compatible interventional devices. One part of the manufacturing process chain requires precise heating to apply a polymer coating for mechanical protection, controlled friction, and biocompatibility. The current process is largely manual and serial, limiting throughput and reproducibility. This thesis aims to develop a machine and process concept enabling parallel, automated heating of multiple devices, with optimized thermal and mechanical process parameters.
• Design a mechanical system for automated, parallel processing of multiple devices
• Develop and optimize the heat-treat process with respect to temperature profiles, exposure time, processing speed and nozzle and heat-delivery design
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality
• Integrate cleanroom-compatible design principles (materials, airflow, particle minimization)
• Evaluate process stability, scalability, and manufacturability
• Enrolled student in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, biomedical engineering, or a comparable field
• Strong interest in machine design, automation and manufacturing processes
• Experience with CAD and mechanical design; hands-on prototyping experience is an advantage
• Interest in cleanroom production and medical device manufacturing
• Independent, structured working style
Our main office is in Düsseldorf, Germany. Remote or hybrid arrangements may be possible depending on the project.
