We are currently looking for an IT System Administrator for our team (onsite in Berlin) to provide smooth running IT services for the organisation.
• Manage and secure M365 tenant, including inter-tenant connectivity
• Administer our Linux based server infrastructure for research projects – both cloud-based and in-house
• Plan and supervise our network infrastructure (LAN & WAN) including open-source security (Firewall, IPS, Proxy, VPN gateway, SIEM)
• Maintain and optimize virtualized environments, including containers and virtual machines (VMs)
• Monitor our infrastructure to identify, optimise and resolve potential performance and security problems
• Be the go-to person for any MacOS / Linux / Hardware related requests from the team
• Guide the team and clients on questions of infrastructure and data security
• Significant experience (at least 3 years) as System Administrator
• Proficiency in managing M365 and Linux systems is essential
• Experience monitoring and maintaining server health and performance in production environments
• Hands-on experience with Proxmox, VMware ESX, or vCenter
• Ability to troubleshoot MacOS devices and network-related issues
• Familiarity with tools such as SSH, GIT, GPG, tcpdump, OpenVPN, and Ansible
• A strong security mindset
• You enjoy learning and be updated about new technologies
Nice to have
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
