As European headquarters based in Hamburg, we are responsible for planning and managing the regular services from Europe to North America and Asia as well as their marketing in Europe.
To support our dynamic and multinational team in Hamburg, we are looking for a new
Team Member (m/f/d) Vessel Operations
- Prepare and issue voyage instruction, discharging instruction, sailing information etc.
- Update vessel schedule into our system
- Communicate with vessel, ship managing company, local office to maintain scheduled voyage
- Bunkering arrangement, including confirmation of fuel SPEC and review of bunker supplier
- Prepare cargo stowage plan and provide to concerned parties
- Issue incident report when accident, serious cargo damage happens, followed by necessary actions with vessel master, ship management company, port and agent
- Collect cost reports from local offices in timely manner
- Handle environmental and technical matters related to vessel
- Negotiate with owner of vessel when off-hire incurs, report to parties concerned when reached an agreement with the owner
- Education and professional experience in the shipping environment
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Familiar with handling numerical data, calculation with high level of accuracy and attention to details
- Sense to take necessary action, particularly sharing necessary information among parties whenever critical things happen
- Experience and sense of managing one’s own workload through effective prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
- Possession of a class B driving license
- Attitude to take care of ongoing issue until resolved, possibly with own ideas
- Computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft suite of software to intermediate level in Word, Excel and Outlook
