BBIS has an opening for a Tentative – Teacher of MYP English Language and Literature and IB MYP/DP Spanish (f/m/d)

  • Teach IB MYP English and IB MYP/DP Spanish Acquisition to students from grade 6 to 12.

  • Innovative, connected, creative, collaborative, flexible and proactive professional, who has a passion for your subject.
  • Have strong beliefs that all students can access and succeed in English & Spanish and that the cornerstone of student confidence is the acquisition of foundational content, skills, and understanding.
  • Have a keen interest in promoting student well-being through teaching and learning in the English Language and Literature & Spanish Acquisition classroom and beyond.
  • Experience in teaching English Language and Literature and Spanish Acquisition in the IB programmes (MYP and DP, although we might also consider candidates with experience in the AP, A-Level, IGCSE or similar, as training can be provided as part of our extensive professional development programme.
  • Teaching certification, preferably with a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role in international schools.
  • Excellent references indicating a passion for teaching English and Spanish.
  • Outstanding communication (both written and spoken).
  • Demonstrate at all times the learner profile attributes/dispositions.
  • Conviction to the development of inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum units and educational programmes.
  • Effective practice to utilise technology within teaching and learning.
  • Embrace the school’s Mission and Guiding Statements and put student learning first
  • Have the ability to teach across a diverse range of abilities and motivations using effective strategies
  • Have the ability to incorporate varied instructional models and assessment methods to optimise student learning
  • Plan collaboratively and contribute across disciplines
  • Motivate students to become creative and critical thinkers, who are actively engaged in their own learning
  • Create a safe, secure and stimulating environment based on understanding, respect and shared agreements in accordance with BBIS’s Child Safeguarding Policy
  • Value and make productive use of the diversity of cultures and perspectives that exist in the school community
  • Team player who is flexible, resilient, and a risk taker with a positive growth mind-set
  • Confidence to seek support when uncertain or challenged

Full-Time: 30 teaching hours per week (40 working hours)
Start date: 1st August 2025
