LIXIL Global Design the award-winning in-house design team for LIXIL, a global leader in the bath, kitchen, and housing technology industry, with studios in some of the most cosmopolitan and culturally diverse cities in the world such as Tokyo, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Düsseldorf, and New York, is looking to expand its team in London-Richmond, beside the river Thames.

LIXIL Global Design is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Intern Industrial Designer to support our design team in current activities and develop a main project from start to finish. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced designers from different backgrounds, contribute to the development of innovative and engaging products, and evolve your skills by learning from experienced professionals in our studio whilst living the three core LIXIL values “Do the Right Thing”, “Work with Respect” and “Experiment and Learn”.

  • Lead a Key Project: Take ownership of a six-month project, collaborating closely with our design team to plan, execute, and deliver a design solution that aligns with the project’s objectives and deadlines.
  • Collaborate on Design Solutions: Work with the team to brainstorm, create, and refine product designs, moving from initial concepts to finalized solutions.
  • Conduct Research: Perform trend analysis and benchmark research to inspire and inform design decisions, identifying potential improvements and new opportunities within our portfolio.
  • Create Detailed Design Specifications: Develop comprehensive design documents, including sketches, wireframes, presentations, and quick prototypes.
  • Support Daily Operations: Assist the design team with day-to-day tasks, including the preparation of design assets and other materials as needed.
  • Present Your Work: Prepare and deliver a final presentation that showcases the project you developed and other contributions made during your internship.
  • Enhance Your Professional Profile: Gain valuable experience that will help you evolve your CV and portfolio, setting you up for future success in the design industry.
  • Share best practices with LIXIL design studios and actively contribute to bringing LIXIL Design standards and processes to the next level

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias )
  • Sketching and rendering abilities
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of prototyping techniques and materials
  • Creative thinker with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fresh thinker and ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
