Join our team at Stena Line as the next Trade Manager for Business Region Germany!

As a Trade Manager you will have a dynamic and impactful position within the maritime industry. The role involves a strategic blend of analytical abilities and leadership skills to enhance the profitability of our shipping routes. By utilizing advanced forecasting methods, pricing strategies, and efficient capacity allocation, you will ensure that revenue opportunities are fully capitalized upon while keeping costs at bay.

But this role is about more than just numbers; You’ll shape and develop the region’s trade strategy, guiding a team of Regional Trade Optimizers. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in trade management.

  • Optimize the Region’s Profit & Loss through strong control of both revenue and cost levels
  • Ensure an optimal timetable that suits market demand and operation efficiency
  • Short- and long-term fleet and capacity planning together with our Network and Business Development department
  • Set regional pricing strategies for our three business areas; Freight, Travel, and Onboard Sales and Service to ensure optimal revenue
  • Ensure profitability by actively optimizing the departures in terms of capacity allocation and price for our three main revenue streams
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the Trade Management activities in line with company commercial strategies
  • Monitor, report, and simulate current and future business performance and market development, and suggest improvements for the same, to internal stakeholders
  • Secure and perform updated and detailed cost analysis for all aspects of the regional operations
  • Share and communicate the demand forecast to enable a common view of future volumes with Finance, operations, HR, and other stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in the maritime, transport, hospitality, and/ or logistics industry
  • Extensive experience in revenue management and business administration
  • Proven track record in leadership roles
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge in German and Swedish are of advantage
  • Excellent IT skills and huge interest in AI
