About the Department Global Trial Portfolio is a newly established area within Novo Nordisk Development organization. The Diabetes & Obesity Clinical Operations area is part of Global Trial Portfolio and responsible for the planning and execution of clinical trials in accordance with Novo Nordisk strategic priorities within the Diabetes and Obesity therapy areas. We are professionals in total bringing extensive experience in the discipline and therapy areas. We are divided in three areas, and it is one of these areas (with focus on Diabetes), that we are looking for a Vice President to lead. The Diabetes area currently consists of seven departments, each of which is led by a Director and counts professionals in total. The Position Reporting to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) for Diabetes & Obesity Clinical Operations, the new Vice President will be part of our newly established Global Trial Portfolio organization. The new leader will provide strategic direction for, and execution oversight of, clinical operational matters relating to the project portfolio anchored within the Diabetes therapy area. This includes trial planning, study design and development, execution within budget and timelines, quality and compliance as well as development of the global clinical operation function. As the Vice President of Clinical Operations for Diabetes, you will: Be part of setting strategic direction for Clinical Operations and establishing and developing an effective, professional and motivated Clinical Operations organisation. Provide leadership and mentorship to the organisation, fostering a supportive work environment, enabling professional growth and development. Establish, implement and proactively manage clinical trials programmes, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards according to NN Global Project Framework. Drive operational excellence within clinical operations, optimizing processes, resource allocation, and trial management to ensure efficient and best-in-class trial conduct. Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and digital solutions within clinical operations, leveraging new tools and platforms. Lead by example and foster collaboration across the Clinical Operations area and the broader Novo Nordisk organization. Qualifications You are an experienced executive from the global pharmaceutical industry. Recognized as a forward-leaning and empowering people leader, you possess: Over five years’ experience leading organizations of a similar scale, ideally from a complex, multinational matrix organization in the global pharmaceutical industry. Comprehensive knowledge of industrial drug development with diverse experience across pharmaceutical value chain Proven knowledge of clinical trial management Experience leading a digital transformation, ideally within clinical operations or a related function is an advantage Previous experience with leading leaders is an advantage International experience PhD/MSc in a related scientific discipline As a person, you are a strong communicator and bridge builder with a flair for complex stakeholder management.
