With a fleet of 287 modern container ships and a Vessel Capacity 2.2 million TEU, as well as a Container Capacity 3.2 million TEU including one of the world’s largest and most modern reefer container fleets, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world’s leading liner shipping companies. In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13.500 employees and 400 offices in 139 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 11.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers. A total of 114 liner services worldwide ensure fast and reliable connections between more than 600 ports across the world. In the Terminal & Infrastructure segment, Hapag-Lloyd has stakes in 20 terminals in Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa. The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.

  • Support on open transhipment requests and plan transhipment connection
  • Assign voyage to transhipment request and ensure correct terminal
  • Review the import and export volumes at the transhipment port assigning the preferred route, and faster and cost-effective connection available
  • (Re-)arrange terminal haulage or off-dock storage during transhipment
  • Monitor transhipment connection and rollover of transhipment units in case of misconnection
  • Create feeder Work Orders (WO) and submit WOs to the vendors
  • Create Transport exceptions (TREX) for transhipment use cases
  • Inform the origin and destination offices about transhipment cargo inspection as well as the additional charges incurred in transhipment ports to ensure additional expenses are recovered from the shipper or customer account
  • Handling of customs and veterinary issues
  • Handling of SAP Invoice Exceptions

  • You are studying full-time in a shipping-related degree program, business administration, transport management or a comparable degree program
  • Ideally, you already have practical experience in the shipping, logistics or freight forwarding industry – but this is not required
  • An independent, detailed and systematic way of working is a matter of course for you
  • You also have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset and team spirit
  • Additionally, you possess good communication skills in English (both spoken and written) and, preferably, in German as well
  • You already have practical experience with using MS Office programs (Word, Excel & Outlook)
