At mika, we are redefining how SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) handle their finances. We automate taxes and bookkeeping so that business owners can focus on scaling their companies, not losing sleep over paperwork. Having found a strong product-market fit, we are now entering a hyper-growth phase and need a strategic-minded “doer” to help the founders bring mika under the people.

  • Review automated booking suggestions and complete missing information.
  • Support the preparation of P&L reports, VAT pre-filings, and annual closing documents.
  • Act as a friendly, clear, and competent point of contact for client questions.
  • Collaborate closely with our product team to continuously improve our software.
  • Document internal processes and contribute ideas for greater efficiency.

  • Professional Background: Completed vocational training or a degree in accounting – e.g., as a Financial Accountant or Certified Senior Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter:in).
  • Experience: Hands-on experience in accounting, ideally within a digital-first or fast-growing environment.
  • Tool Stack: Solid experience with DATEV is essential. Familiarity with Odoo or similar ERP systems is a strong plus.
  • Working Style: You are known for your structured, precise, and solution-oriented approach. You take pride in “clean books.”
  • Digital Mindset: You are tech-savvy and always curious about how digital tools can streamline accounting processes.
  • Communication: German at C1/C2 level is required for legal and tax-related communication. English is our internal language (B2 level is sufficient).
