- You conduct applied research in industrial sensors for various ABB business areas. You work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of industrial sensor technologies and prototypes.
- You address complex technical challenges in a structured, creative, and result-oriented manner.
- You lead research projects in close collaboration with our ABB divisions.
- You identify technology trends in academia, industry and strategic markets and evaluate their relevance for current and future ABB products.
- You help protect innovation by securing intellectual property and publishing in scientific conferences.
- You present your work to technical experts and management audiences inside and outside ABB, including renowned scientific conferences and trade fairs.
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. with equivalent professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in mechanical design, including validation & test procedures and system integration.
- Sound knowledge of materials and design for manufacturing approaches.
- Knowledge of sensor physics including vibration and modal analysis is considered a plus.
- Industrial experience in process industries or related is considered a plus.
- Cross-cultural communication and networking skills.
- Proficient English skills are mandatory; additional German skills are beneficial.
