HSESQ ENGINEER
(Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) (M/W/D) – Kraton Chemical, Gersthofen
We are seeking an experienced HSESQ Engineer to maintain and enhance our quality, health, safety, environmental, and security management systems in Gersthofen. You are responsible for professionally leading the quality laboratory on site, and two employees working in the laboratory. In this role, you will work closely with employees, regional teams, and corporate colleagues to strengthen safety culture, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive continuous improvement. This role is crucial in driving a safetyfirst approach and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the local quality laboratory with two employees.
- Maintain and improve the Quality and HSES management system at the Gersthofen site.
- Ensure efficient EHS communication and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Conduct employee training sessions based on Kraton guidelines and organize required certifications.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate HSES and Quality colleagues.
- Organize and participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001).
- Oversee workplace hygiene monitoring with external partners.
- Ensure proper emergency management preparedness.
- Act as the point of contact for health, safety, and environmental concerns in change management.
- Assist in safety discussions and assessments.
- Prepare internal sustainability reports based on data analysis.
- University degree (or equivalent) in safety engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- Certification as a safety specialist (preferably via BG RCI) or relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of regulations in occupational safety and the chemical industry.
- Familiarity with explosion protection, AwSV, TA-Luft, hazardous substances, and transportation safety laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluent in both German and English, spoken and written.
