Tasks
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a European Tax Manager, your tasks and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Quarterly tax calculations and reviews: tax provision, deferred tax
- Tax return true-up
- Transfer Pricing: TPP calculations, TPP rate updates, and TP documentations
- Group Reporting: Forms 5471 and Subpart F, APB 23, Fin 48… and other reports
- Withholding taxes
- Main point of contact of VP Tax and Tax director
- Ensure Tax Compliance across Europe
- Ensure SOX compliance for Tax
- Tax audit assistance (to local controllers)
- Point of contact of tax consultants
- Tax research, including self-initiated update to new/revised European tax law
- M&A: tax analysis and advice
- Integration of a newly acquired group in Europe
- Other Tax Projects
Requirements
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
After having acquired a solid foundation in accounting, you have obtained a CTA and/or an ADIT qualification or equivalent degree. You have been working 10 years in a similar position in an international group. The following skills would be helpful too:
- Technical Tax Knowledge: Advanced understanding of technical tax areas, including corporate income taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, withholding taxes, accounting for income taxes, R&D tax credit and transfer pricing rules. Advanced international tax knowledge. Ability to prepare or review foreign income tax provisions and tax returns.
- Problem Solving: Ability to make clear, consistent and transparent decisions.
- Research Skills: Working knowledge with online tax research tools
- Self-Starter: Be able to work independently and highly motivated to accomplish desired goals.
- Attention to detail: Diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
- Accountability, Dependability: Must be extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and fulfill all commitments to heavy tax filings and accounting closing deadlines.
- Analysis: Ability to analyze and collect data and make sound business judgments.
- Communication: Strong communication skills. Ability to be attentive and listen to others, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and write effective business reports and correspondence.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to influence and mentor others.
- Software proficiency: Ability to work in a Microsoft software environment; familiarity with SAP.
- Advanced Excel skills
- US GAAP a plus

This full-time position is located in Europe. Hybrid working possible in the role.
