Mechanical Technician Hooton Bio Power, Cheshire, UK Do you have a high level of practical operational/maintenance experience/knowledge in mechanical engineering? Do you have a good understanding of all HSE aspects (preferably a NEBOSH or IOSH certification)? Then you might be our new Mechanical Technician to join our team at Hooton Bio Power.Reporting to the O&M Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for providing day-to-day mechanical and rotating equipment maintenance activities, integrating into a team of highly skilled technicians that also manage contract support organisations as required in accordance with the Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Management procedures for the plant.Summary of Key Responsibilities:All mechanical and rotating equipment maintenance activitiesEnsure that all mechanical activities, spares and information are correctly inputted into the CMMS and available for use including assisting the O&M Maintenance Team Leader in keeping detailed history records. Responsible for providing technical support to Operations. Responsible for carrying out all equipment monitoring controls (e.g. vibration and oil analysis). Carrying out responsibilities as defined in the company’s safety rules and associated procedures. Identifying and taking proactive measures to improve plant operational shortfalls and augment engineering solutions. Supervise and develop the Contract Support Organisations to deliver scheduled, preventative, breakdown, planned maintenance and operational activities. Quality control of designated work associated within the maintenance department. Supporting other UK business if the needs arise. Building and maintaining a culture of teamwork where team members progress towards operational and maintenance dual-skilling and want to contribute to their full potential.Background:ONC/City and Guilds/NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering (or below if accompanied by suitable experienceAt least 3 years’ experience and knowledge of power generation operations and maintenance associated with fuel and ash handling systems, steam turbines, boilers, balance of plant, and computer-aided maintenance management applicationsWorking knowledge of preventive maintenance/defect repair on: Pumps, valves, fans, conveyors, mechanical drives & assemblies and other equipment related to the site.An understanding & ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic/P&ID and isometric diagrams. Excellent verbal/written communication skillsFamiliar with a number of Microsoft applicationsGood interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitudeIf you have any questions or need further information, please contact Dan Collinson at .For consideration for the Mechanical Technician’s position please apply submitting a CV, providing a brief summary of suitability and an indication of current or desired salary package.
