Your responsibilites:
- Strategic Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the logistics plan and procedures for ocean freight export department.
- Manage the operational budget and participate in overall financial planning.
- Establish and monitor profit ratios in collaboration with the manager.
- Set objectives and conduct performance reviews for the team twice a year.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations team.
- Oversee the operational budget and contribute to financial planning for all operations.
- Ensure compliance with operational regulations and proper documentation.
- Set and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish performance standards.
Customer Focus:
- Maintain and develop “front-end” relations with key customers.
- Drive continuous growth of existing and new customer portfolios in alignment with the company strategy.
Innovation & Process Optimization:
- Regularly review and improve workflows to enhance productivity.
- Leverage IT tools to increase operational efficiency.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and contribute to overall business innovation, from front-end processes to back-end streamlining.
Talent Development:
- Prepare development plans to maintain a leadership pipeline and foster growth and capability within the operations team.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all KPIs meet customer expectations.
- Guarantee that all team members meet internal and external deadlines.
- Regularly review and improve process flows, documenting them as needed.
- Conduct internal system training for staff.
- Ensure correct and timely billing.
- Prepare reports required by customers and/or internal teams.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Job Requirements
Your profile:
- 10-15 years experience, with a minimum of 5-8 years at a management level in Ocean Freight.
- Minimum of a Bachelor´s degree or equivalent and additional qualifications in supply chain management will be helpful
- Managerial experience in Operations
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
- Good written and spoken knowledge of German and English
